We are excited to share the outcomes of our recent Charitable Contributions Committee meeting, where we approved 15 partnerships for the first quarter of 2025. Through strategic investments in education, health, and social services, we continue to strengthen the communities we call home. Here’s a closer look at our Q1 2025 contributions and their key outcomes:
Advancing Education
- Columbus Council on World Affairs
- Impact: Supporting the Global Scholars Program, empowering young leaders with global awareness and leadership skills.
- The Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges
- Impact: Funding five Greif scholarships to assist students pursuing manufacturing-related studies.
- Dawes Arboretum
- Impact: Providing Student STEAM Activity Boxes to inspire interest in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.
- Imagination Library
- Impact: Providing free monthly books to children ages 0-5 to build early literacy and a love for reading.
- The Ohio State University – Formula Buckeyes Team
- Impact: Supporting the next generation of automotive engineers in designing, manufacturing, and competing with a formula-style race car.
Promoting Health & Well-being
- American Heart Association
- Impact: Enhancing heart health initiatives and educational programs to promote healthier communities.
- Johnson Health Center
- Impact: Expanding dental care access for underserved populations near our Riverville Mill in Virginia.
- Stockhands Horses for Healing
- Impact: Supporting their Capital Campaign to expand therapeutic horseback riding programs and facilities for veterans and youth.
- Alex’s Saints Foundation
- Impact: Funding programs to combat the overdose crisis and support young adults in recovery through financial assistance for treatment and rehabilitation. This organization was founded and is run by two of our very own colleagues – Tyler Bettelon, Account Manager & Jeff Bettelon, Senior Sales Manager.
- Autism Speaks
- Impact: Sponsoring the Columbus Empower Summit to advance autism awareness and community engagement.
- SourcePoint
- Impact: Supporting the Farmers Market Program, providing older adults in need with vouchers for fresh, healthy produce while also supporting local farmers.
Strengthening Social Services
- Red Cross
- Impact: Fully funding a Community Blood Transportation Vehicle to ensure timely delivery of life-saving blood donations, saving lives across the region.
- Star House
- Impact: Supporting safe housing initiatives for young adults experiencing homelessness.
- Recreation Unlimited
- Impact: Supporting Greif Week and program enhancement, ensuring that more individuals with disabilities can enjoy and benefit from recreational activities.
- A Kid Again
- Impact: This National Partnership will support families all over the United States facing serious childhood illnesses through fun and engaging activities.
Looking Ahead
While funding is carefully allocated based on budget, impact and alignment with our giving priorities, Greif remains committed to supporting organizations that strengthen the communities we call home.
