Greif recently introduced a new product line of cores, the GP Series (Ground and Polished), at the ICE USA show. This series of smooth cores is manufactured for the film, foil and flexible packaging industry. The product is made of recycled paperboard and includes an exceptionally smooth outer surface. Manufacturers often prefer a smooth core surface, as opposed to one with spiral lines showing, so that the spiral line outline will not be transferred onto their product. The product also improves winding and unwinding performance.
The GP series consists of three grades, the GP300 Formax, the GP400 Gold Coat and the GP500 Plate Coat. The GP300 Formax works especially well for tape adherence. GP400 Gold Coat is ideal for thinner gauge films and the GP500 Plate Coat is used when surface waviness of two microns or less is required.
ICE USA is the only exhibition dedicated exclusively to converting and processing web-based materials. More than 2,500 verified registrants attended the shows, representing professionals from the converting and industrial printing industries. There were over 260 exhibitors from 12 countries.
“The show was very successful and many of the attendees and exhibitors were familiar with Greif,” said Eric Ashley, director of sales – Greif Industrial Products Group. “To top off a list of great leads, one potential customer who stopped by the booth asked for a sales visit the day after the show.”
