Greif Germany Acts Quickly to Assist Victims of Flooding in Germany

Last week, flooding caused by heavy rains and overflowing rivers devastated towns across western Germany, Belgium, Austria, parts of the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Luxembourg. Our colleagues at the Greif Mendig, Germany plant sprang into action, donating more than 300 GCUBE Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) to help provide drinking water to thousands of people in the region.

In Germany alone, the flooding impacted the regions of North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland Palatinate in particular, where more than 150 people have perished and hundreds more are missing.

Just around the corner from the devastated areas is our Greif Mendig plant, where none of our colleagues were injured. Since the plant is fully operational, Mendig colleagues jumped to action to donate IBCs to fire brigades and relief organizations. Many thanks to all Mendig colleagues who reacted in such a great spirit of humanity and helpfulness.
