In an era where sustainability and innovation are not just buzzwords but critical business imperatives, Greif Brazil is at the forefront of addressing industry challenges. Earlier this summer, we hosted the AgChem Consensus Summit, bringing together subject matter experts, key stakeholders, and industry leaders to exchange best practices and tackle pressing issues within the agro-chemical sector.
Greif brought on in-house sustainability and product experts Aysu Katun & Tom Palmer to facilitate insightful discussions. Prominent industry players like Adama, Corteva & Syngenta were in attendance and participated in discussions to identify common issues for the sector and put together an action plan to address them. The customers were also invited to witness Greif’s recent innovative efforts in action – The production of jerrycans using ECOEX regrind material. ECOEX solutions present the opportunity for more sustainable, high value-added products compared to the conventional COEX solutions.
Understanding Industry Needs
The summit highlighted several key concerns and opportunities within the industry:
- Sustainability: An urgent call for an innovative ecosystem that promotes sustainable practices and enables circularity across the supply chain.
- Upcycling using ECOEX: ECOEX’s improved recyclability opens up new possibilities for upcycling compared to COEX
- Anti-counterfeiting: As counterfeit products pose significant risks; the industry is seeking robust solutions to safeguard the integrity of their products.
- Packaging Innovation: Driving the industry forward will require improved robust designs, innovative sustainable materials, and market-wide standardization
A Commitment to Innovation and Sustainability
Greif is committed to leading the industry in sustainable packaging solutions. Our focus on upcycling & circularity, as demonstrated with the ECOEX initiative, not only aligns with global sustainability trends but also addresses the specific needs of the AgChem sector. As we move forward, we are dedicated to furthering our research and development efforts, leveraging partnerships, and advocating for practices that prioritize both product integrity and environmental stewardship. The AgChem Consensus Summit was just the beginning; we look forward to more collaborative efforts to build a sustainable future for the packaging industry.
