Greif announces investment in vertical seamer

Greif is pleased to announce the installation of a new vertical seamer for steel drums at its Grand-Quevilly plant in France.

Aimed at maximizing overall customer satisfaction, the investment will deliver efficiency gains and enhanced product performance. The new equipment will further improve the seam quality on steel drums and optimize lead times. Substantial energy savings are also expected.

“We are delighted with the installation of the new seamer. It was a quick and smooth process thanks to the effective team work of our supplier, Greif’s operational support group and on-site team,” said Pascal Laurent, operations director for Greif France. “The investment will have a positive impact on productivity and customer experience, helping the business to secure significant growth going forward, and underpins our commitment to becoming the world’s best performing customer service company.”

Established over a century ago and employing more than 200 people, Grand-Quevilly is one of Greif’s largest facilities across the EMEA region. Its steel drums are supplied into various markets including lubricants, petrochemicals, flavors, fragrances and paints. It operates blow molding machines for plastic drums and jerricans for the food industry and also produces Trisure plastic components.
