As we celebrate Red Cross Month, we reflect on our long-standing commitment to supporting the Red Cross’s vital work through financial contributions, blood donations, and disaster relief efforts worldwide.
A Legacy of Support
Our history of giving to the Red Cross dates back to at least 2001, marking the beginning of a meaningful collaboration filled with contributions to various causes. Since then, we have contributed more than $550,000 to support disaster relief efforts, blood donation initiatives, and life-saving transportation resources.
Blood Drives Save Lives
One of the most impactful ways we support the Red Cross is through blood donation drives. Since hosting our first recorded blood drive in 1990, we’ve organized over 100 drives, inspiring more than 250 first-time donors to roll up their sleeves and give.
Across our global operations, our facilities have been active partners in hosting onsite blood drives to make donating more accessible—especially for our production colleagues who may not have the flexibility to visit offsite locations to participate in this life-saving effort.
Global Impact in Times of Crisis
Our commitment to the Red Cross extends beyond blood donation. Over the years, Greif has responded to global crises by providing funding for emergency relief efforts in the wake of natural disasters and humanitarian crises. From supporting hurricane and earthquake relief to fully funding 4 blood transportation vehicles, we are committed to enhancing the Red Cross’s ability to respond quickly and effectively to those in need.
