2024 Was a Year of Significant Progress for Greif

Despite persistent market headwinds and macroeconomic challenges, we remained committed to investing in our business, taking meaningful steps toward our long-term goals, and delivering results that benefit both people and the planet. Here are some of the year’s highlights:

Expanding Our Reach

This year, Greif completed the acquisition of Ipackchem, a global leader in high-performance polymer packaging, adding more than 1,400 colleagues and 13 well-capitalized facilities across eight countries. We also expanded our reconditioning network by welcoming Delta Containers Manchester and growing Centurion Container with the purchase of the assets of Enterprize Container Corporation, advancing our circularity efforts.

In addition to these acquisitions, we opened two new facilities: a state-of-the-art sheet feeder plant in Dallas, Texas, capable of producing 100 percent recycled fiber bulk boxes and containers, and a facility in Malaysia, equipped with manufacturing technologies to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality while producing reusable and recyclable Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs). These additions strengthen our strategic footprint and reinforce our commitment to sustainable growth.
Optimizing for the Future

In 2024, we completed a major internal realignment to better align our operations with customer needs and market dynamics. Our legacy businesses are now structured into seven strategic business units, categorized by material solutions: Customized Polymer Solutions, Durable Metal Solutions, Sustainable Fiber Solutions, and Integrated Solutions.

This transformation not only optimizes our business operations but also enhances our ability to support suppliers, customers, and partners in achieving their sustainability goals through our comprehensive product portfolio and deep industry expertise.

Sustainability & Recognition

While 2024 was a year of change, it was also a year of progress. We completed our 14ème Net Promoter Score (NPS) wave, achieving a world-class score of 70 in customer satisfaction. In addition, we made significant progress toward our zero waste-to-landfill target with 60 of our production facilities reaching the milestone.

Our efforts have not gone unnoticed. Greif was named a 2024 Top 100 Global Most Loved Workplace by Newsweek, recognized as one of America’s Most Responsible Companies for 2025, and listed on USA Today’s America’s Climate Leaders for the second year in a row.

Additionally, we continue to be recognized for our best-in-class colleague engagement, achieving an 85ème percentile ranking in our annual survey and receiving Gallup’s prestigious Exceptional Workplace Award.

These achievements only scratch the surface of what we accomplished this year. Our 2024 Sustainability Report, which also serves as our United Nations Global Compact Communication on Progress, provides a deeper look into how we are building the next chapter of Greif—one defined by growth, circularity, and sustainability.

I encourage you to read it, and as always, we welcome your feedback on our progress.

Best regards,
