Soterra Collaborates with NextEra Energy Resources for The Amite Solar Project
Soterra is pleased to be collaborating with NextEra Energy Resources and the esteemed local utility company, Dixie Electric Membership Cooperative (DEMCO), on the groundbreaking of the Amite Solar project in the heart of Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana. This visionary endeavor will transform approximately 1,200 acres of land, a significant portion of which is under the stewardship of Soterra Land Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of Greif, into a solar energy center. United by a shared commitment to fostering a brighter future for generations to come, NextEra Energy Resources and Soterra are joining forces to bring this project to life.
The Amite Solar project has advanced into the construction phase, marked by a groundbreaking ceremony held on March 20. With an unwavering commitment to providing homegrown, renewable energy to local communities, DEMCO has charted a course to purchase the energy generated by this solar center. This transformative initiative will catalyze economic growth by creating approximately 200 construction jobs and fostering the procurement of regional goods and services from local vendors.
Soterra is very proud to be an integral part of NextEra Energy Resources’ inaugural solar project in Louisiana, contributing to its legacy of pioneering innovative energy solutions.
