Greif is proud to congratulate Barry Wingard, minority owner and senior operations director of Container Life Cycle Management, LLC, recipient of the 2018 Morris Hershson Award of Merit. The honor was presented by the Reusable Industrial Packaging Association (RIPA) on Thursday, October 25 in Houston, Texas.
The award is given annually to an individual who has made meaningful long-term contributions to the reconditioning industry. Barry has worked in the industry for more than 40 years, serving in numerous leadership roles. His work has significantly impacted the industry of industrial packaging by supporting the pursuit the sustainable and responsible reuse of steel and plastic drums, and intermediate bulk containers.
Wingard got his start in the reconditioning industry working with his father, David Wingard. David was the 2002 recipient of the Hershson Award.
The Hershson Award is named after Morris Hershson, president of RIPA for 35 years, until his death in 1985. Hershson served as a leading advocate for the reconditioning industry around the world and is credited with developing RIPA.
