Greif recently attended the annual Agro Expo exhibition which took place in Don Benito, Badajoz, in Spain. More than 10,000 visitors attended the international event for the agricultural sector, at which Greif showcased its conical steel drums.
Greif operates a conical steel drum plant in Don Benito, serving tomato paste producers in the Extremadura and Andalusia regions of Spain. Opened in 2017, Don Benito is a recent expansion of Greif’s footprint in Iberia in addition to its existing factory in Povoa, Portugal.
“As a market leader of conical steel drums in the region, the event provides a great opportunity to profile our capabilities and network with existing customers,” said Antonio Nunes, sales manager at Greif’s Rigid Industrial Packaging and Services facility in Portugal.
Greif’s conical steel drums offer an environmentally friendly and cost-effective packaging solution. The special conical design allows for a reduction in the steel thickness, as well as cost-effective transportation and storage.
These attributes make conical steel drums suitable for a range of commodities including tomato paste and fruit concentrates.
Greif has been producing conical steel drums for more than 25 years and offers a wide range of specifications – capacity from 60L to above 220L; thickness from 0.5 to 0.8mm; internal coating; external paint; UN approved version for liquids and a choice of lids including plastic, metal, galvanized and aluminized steel.
