Greif’s Rigid Industrial Packaging and Services facility in Amatitlán, Guatemala, which produces steel drums, reached a major milestone in May, now operating 12 consecutive years without an accident. The achievement supports Greif’s ongoing aspiration of achieving zero accidents at all facilities worldwide.
“Our team gives 110 percent every day, and this allowed Guatemala plant to achieve this milestone. To get to where we are today, our employees live The Greif Way, with their commitment to ethics, diversity, sustainability and continuous improvement.” said Sergio Briglia, business unit manager.
Since 2014, the Amatitlán facility has gradually increased its annual score on a third-party safety audit. In 2018, the safety audit score reached 96 percent.
The safety performance by the Amatitlán facility earned the group a Chairman’s Safety Excellence Award in 2018, which is a Greif program that recognizes facilities that demonstrate a consistent high-level of safety.
