Oil, lube and automotive fluid products
Our Delta Companies Group team collaborated to create high performing yet sustainable oil, lube and automotive fluid products for consumers. By using alternative renewable resources, packaging and recycled materials, and then conducting a life cycle assessment on the products, Delta was able to:
- achieve a carbon footprint reduction of 29 to 50 percent in improved bar and chain, automotive and small engine oils, and a 38 to 51 percent lower abiotic resource depletion than conventional alternatives. The cumulative environmental impact demonstrated a 10 to 28 percent improvement over conventional products;
- realize a 71 percent reduction in landfill waste with alternative packaging; and
- reduce landfill waste by 977,000 gallons, energy consumption of oil products by 90 percent and CO2 emissions by 64 percent with the use of re-refined base oils, methanol and glycols.
EarthMinded™ RainStation™ Rain Barrels
EarthMinded Consumer Products developed a line of rainwater harvesting products to enable families to effortlessly capture rainwater ccfflowing through their downspouts that would typically be lost into storm drains and sewer systems. This reduces water consumption, and in many cases, lessens the stress on municipal water treatment facilities.
The EarthMinded™ RainStation™ rain barrel is a complete rainwater harvesting system that includes our patented FlexiFit diverter that helps prevent overflows and flooding. RainStation™ rain barrels feature a reversible “Planter Top” lid that can be used to grow annuals or herbs on top of the barrel making it both functional and decorative.
DIY Rain Barrel Kit
The DIY Rain Barrel Kit enables anyone to make a rain barrel out of a recycled plastic drum or trash barrel. The kit includes all parts needed to quickly assemble and install a state of the art rain barrel with our patented FlexiFit diverter.
RainRouter™ Diverter System
The RainRouter™ Diverter System turns a downspout into a spigot when it rains. It connects any combination of two rain barrels and/or garden hoses from a downspout. It can also be used to remote locate rain barrel(s) using a standard garden hose. The selector valve allows control of rainwater flow to your collection spots.
packH2O Water Backpack
For people in underdeveloped regions and disaster zones
By 2025, 1.8 billion people will be living in areas with water scarcity. The burden of water transport can be huge in developing countries, especially for women and children who spend 200 million hours daily to collect drinking water. The average person needs 8 to 15 liters of water per day; a family of six needs up to 90 liters daily. And in Africa, for example, women walk an average of 3.5 miles each day to get water.
To provide an answer to the need for a clean, easy-to-carry means of transporting and storing household water, Greif leveraged its expertise in flexible industrial packaging and designed the first for purpose water transport product, packH2O™. Economically viable, collapsible and sanitary, the packH2O™ is the ergonomically correct way to manually transport and store household water in the developing world, offering relief to women and children around the world.
