Michael J. Gasser

Chairman of the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer

Joined the company in 1979 as internal auditor. Named controller in 1981, vice president of finance in 1988, member of the board of directors in 1991, vice chairman and chief operating officer in 1994, and chairman in 1994. Graduated from Ohio Northern University with a bachelor of arts degree and is a certified public accountant.

David B. Fischer

President and Chief Operating Officer

Joined Greif in 2004 from Dow, where he was business vice president for the Polyurethanes business. He had been with Dow since 1986, working in several business groups and holding positions of increasing responsibility. Earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University where he studied chemistry and physics.

Donald S. Huml

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Joined Greif in 2002 and named executive vice president in 2005. Previous experience includes eight years with Snap-on Incorporated as senior vice president, finance and chief financial officer and 21 years with Saint-Gobain Corporation and its subsidiaries, CertainTeed Corporation and Norton Company, in various roles. Earned a master's degree in business administration from Temple University ( Pa.) and a bachelor of science degree from Marquette University ( Wis.)

Ronald L. Brown

Senior Vice President, Global Sourcing and Supply Chain

Joined Greif subsidiary Down River International in 1972 as territory sales representative. Appointed senior vice president of Marketing and Manufacturing operations in 1985; named president and chief operating officer of Down River in 1991 and promoted to chairman in 1995. In 2001, selected to head the Industrial Packaging & Services business of North America. Named to his current position in 2004. Holds a bachelor’s degree in Sales Management from the California State University at Chico.

Karen P. Lane

Senior Vice President, People Services and Talent Development

Joined the company in February 2007. She was previously president of Lane Leadership Group and has an extensive background in career consulting and human resources that spans 30 years. Holds a bachelor of arts degree from Elon University and attended graduate school at the University of North Carolina.

Gary R. Martz

Senior Vice President and General Counsel; President, Soterra

Joined the company in 2002 as senior vice president and general counsel. Named president of Greif's timber subsidiary in 2005. Prior experience includes 19 years with the law firm of Baker & Hostetler, LLP in Cleveland, Ohio, 12 years as a partner. Received his juris doctor degree from The Ohio State University College of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Toledo (Ohio).

Michael C. Patton

Senior Vice President and Divisional President, Greif Packaging North America

Joined Greif in March 2000 as vice president and general manager, Multiwall Packaging after 15 years with Union Camp. Named vice president of Steel for Industrial Packaging & Services – North America in 2002, and vice president and general manager for IP&S – North America (Midwest) in 2004. Later named senior vice president, Transformation Worldwide and in 2005, named to head Paper, Packaging & Services. Holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Seton Hall University.

Ivan Signorelli

Senior Vice President and Divisional President, IP&S – Europe, Middle East and Africa

Joined Van Leer in 1992, serving as BU manager Italy. Named BU manager American Flange in 1993 and promoted to SBU manager Latin America in 1997. Joined Greif when the company acquired Van Leer in 2001. Africa was added to his responsibilities in 2003. Promoted to his current position in 2005. Earned an undergraduate degree in Brazil, concentrating in Business Administration, and an MBA with a major in Marketing, also in Brazil.
